Overview

In this role you apply process design to mechanical solutions for cryogenic heat exchangers and related equipment. You will collaborate with engineers and workshop teams to produce release-ready drawings and BOMs, supporting product development and quality assurance. You’ll work cross-functionally to translate requirements into detailed designs and manufacturing instructions. This is a hands-on engineering position within the European division, contributing to innovative vaporization and process solutions. You drive practical, cost-aware design that fits production capabilities and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Convert process design input into mechanical designs ready for fabrication
  • Create 2D drawings in AutoCAD and 3D models in Inventor or SolidWorks for heat exchangers and related equipment
  • Select mechanical components and justify choices
  • Conduct structural design for skids, supports, and piping; issue assembly and manufacturing drawings
  • Prepare and modify bills of materials (BOMs)
  • Draft Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) and occasional basic electrical drawings
  • Consider QA/inspection requirements and integrate accordingly
  • Collaborate with the business development team on new capabilities and product development
  • Assist with costing and procurement of materials and equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Key requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics and/or pressure vessel design is advantageous
  • Good communication across workshop and office teams
  • Attention to detail with clear, specification-driven drawings
  • Ability to identify problems, evaluate options, and select best solutions
  • Self-motivated, organized, and analytical
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Inventor
