Overview

As a No.1 Site Manager, you will lead projects from inception through completion for a reputable main contractor. You’ll oversee on-site execution across multiple sectors and manage day-to-day activities with support from a visiting Contracts Manager. You’ll drive safety, planning, and progress, ensuring delivery within tendered strategy and budget. The role includes periods away from home and involvement in diverse, multi-site projects. This is a hands-on, leadership position shaping high-quality construction delivery for blue-chip clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from inception to completion across multiple sectors
• Manage day-to-day site operations with support from Contracts Manager
• Plan short-term programmes and communicate them to workforce and management
• Monitor progress and implement corrective action as needed
• Ensure site safety and compliance with health & safety standards
• Manage project delivery in line with tender strategy and cost control
• Be willing to work away from home as required

Key requirements

• Track record as a No.1 Site Manager for a reputable Main Contractor
• Experience managing varied sector projects with values 1m–10m
• Experience with timber frame hotels and public houses is beneficial
• Strong on-site health & safety management
• Ability to plan, programme and communicate effectively
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid certifications
• Willingness to work away from home
