Underwriter/Senior Underwriter, NACT

Overview

As an Underwriter within the syndicate, you will assess and underwrite business aligned to the Syndicate Business Forecast and Underwriting Guidelines. You’ll support strategy development, manage outward reinsurance planning, and nurture client and broker relationships to access new and renewal business. You will monitor risk controls, compliance, and performance reporting to ensure efficient, high-quality underwriting. This role sits at the intersection of risk management, client service, and collaboration across teams to enable organizational growth.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite business within SBF and SUGs parameters
• Assist in long/short-term strategy and SBF planning for relevant class of business
• Support outward reinsurance planning in line with corporate standards and SBF
• Build and maintain client/broker relationships to access new/renewal business
• Provide high-quality service to brokers and customers with timely responses
• Ensure underwriting activity monitoring, risk controls and compliance per SUGs and COB guidelines
• Ensure syndicate management reporting, premium income monitoring, MI and KPI compliance
• Oversee underwriting administration processes including risk recording and PMD rate changes
• Manage and maintain aggregate exposure and Realistic Disaster Scenarios (RDS) within limits
• Manage and train underwriting staff; participate in committees as requested
• Work in accordance with Solvency II guidelines within given parameters
