Deputy Head of Clinical Services

Overview

In this role you support the Head of Clinical Services to deliver safe, high-quality acute care across sites. You will lead clinical teams, influence practices, and drive improvements in patient pathways and governance. You act as a medical and operational bridge, ensuring services run safely while developing staff and embedding best practices. This is a senior clinical leadership role with a focus on cross-site collaboration and clinical assurance, under a values-driven, compassionate culture.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operational management of clinical services in line with best practice
• Act as lead for all specialities and provide expert advice to nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams
• Step in clinically when required and influence practice changes at all levels
• Progress meaningful changes to patient pathways and embed them into the service
• Undertake data reports and incident reporting; support clinical governance requirements and PSIRF/PSIRG activities
• Work across both sites with primary base at Stourside Hospital to provide on-site leadership and clinical assurance
• Represent the Head of Clinical Services in their absence
• Contribute to quality governance, incident management and data analysis to support improvement initiatives
• Support auditing, policy development, and the development of clinical practice and research approaches
• Collaborate with the Senior Clinical Team to maintain high standards of care
