Finance Business Partner – Operations

Overview

In this role you partner with Abcam’s Operations to drive P&L and capex forecasting, deliver robust gross margin insights, and provide financial guidance aligned with business goals. You will collaborate with operations, commercial, and finance leaders to enable data-driven decisions, while ensuring SOX-compliant controls. The role blends planning, analysis, and process improvement to accelerate financial performance in a life sciences context. This is a hands-on partner role shaping the financial backbone of operations.

Responsibilities

• Drive Operations P&L and capex forecasting and gross margin forecasting with detailed modelling
• Conduct in-depth financial analysis including capital investment appraisals, variance and trend analysis, and forecasting
• Build strong partnerships with Operations, Commercial and Finance leaders to align with strategic objectives
• Ensure SOX-compliant controls for revenue and cost recognition
• Identify opportunities to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency

Key requirements

• Qualified accountant
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills (Excel)
• Strong understanding of financial principles and accounting standards
• Proficiency in financial planning systems and tools
• Experience with Oracle (preferred)
• Experience with Tableau/Power BI (preferred)
