Senior Civil Engineer – Design

Overview

As a Senior Civil Engineer – Design, you will lead the technical design delivery for a portfolio of civil/structural projects within Skanska Technology. You will work across the Bridgend office and collaborate with clients, contractors and the supply chain to ensure robust, compliant designs. You mentor engineers and technicians, coordinating multi-disciplinary efforts to meet project objectives. This role offers the chance to shape complex civil schemes and contribute to Skanska’s design consultancy capability nationwide. You will operate in a collaborative, solution-focused environment with a clear impact on project outcomes and value creation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare outline and detailed civil/structural design in line with relevant standards
• Develop clear design calculations, reports, drawings and deliverables
• Provide technical support and mentoring; coordinate work of others to ensure timely delivery
• Collaborate with clients, contractors and supply chain to understand and meet project objectives

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered membership or working towards
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes and UK Industry Codes of Practice; ability to mentor and manage others
• Experience in structural design using common building materials
• UK/EEC driving licence
• Technical design experience on multi-disciplinary projects
