Principal Civil Engineer – Water

Overview

As a Principal Civil Engineer in Leeds, you will lead and shape civil design across the full project lifecycle for water sector schemes, influencing asset planning, concept and detailed design. You’ll mentor engineers and work with project design leads to ensure delivery of high-quality solutions. You’ll contribute to AMP8 delivery and Strategic Planning partnerships, advancing sustainable infrastructure for communities. Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor engineers within the team to deliver design solutions
• Oversee asset planning, strategy, concept, outline and detailed design across projects
• Collaborate with project design leads to ensure successful project delivery
• Contribute to water sector projects under AMP8 and strategic planning initiatives
• Support junior engineers with guidance and knowledge transfer
• Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to translate client requirements into deliverable designs

Key requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Chartered status with ICE or CIWEM (ideally)
• Experience delivering community-focused water sector projects
• Collaborative working style and ability to operate across project teams
• Experience with storm overflows, SUDS, surface water management or sewage treatment (beneficial)
