Head of Safety Partnering

Overview

As Head of Safety Partnering at Ipsen, you will shape and lead the global pharmacovigilance partnering strategy across a diverse commercial portfolio. You will collaborate across GPS and commercial teams to ensure compliant, value-driven PV partnerships, from due diligence to termination. This role combines strategic leadership with governance to deliver safe, impactful outcomes for patients worldwide. You will influence global partnering governance and help transform how safety partnerships support Ipsen’s product strategy.

Responsibilities

• Define and deploy Ipsen’s global PV partnering strategy for commercial partners across the portfolio
• Lead PV partnering strategy with internal and external stakeholders and ensure PVAs are in place with commercial partners, compliant with regulations
• Drive oversight of commercial partners through the PV partnering governance structure
• Define and lead safety partnering strategy for global and local commercial partnerships aligning with Ipsen product strategy
• Lead internal alignment and communication of PV partnering strategy to key stakeholders
• Oversee PV Agreements (PVA) and Partnering with Ipsen commercial partners at global level
• Support due diligence for product acquisition/divestment
• Lead or support PVA/SDEA setup and maintenance aligned with product and safety strategies
• Drive PVA implementation with subject matter experts for proper execution
• Advocate for clear PV roles and responsibilities in PVAs and educate stakeholders for compliant execution
• Lead termination negotiations with partners and internal stakeholders per Ipsen processes and regulatory requirements
• Oversee PV regulatory intelligence related to partnerships and develop a global strategy
• Ensure alignment of internal processes with global PV regulations and update PVA templates as legislation changes
• Lead and develop the Safety Partnering team with appropriate resourcing and performance management
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture from a safety partnering perspective

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or related field, or business administration
• Extensive team management and change management experience
• Strong leadership and negotiation capabilities
• Significant experience in pharmacovigilance within the pharmaceutical industry
• Proven expertise in PV agreements and global partnering environments
• Solid understanding of global PV regulations and inspection readiness
• Collaborative mindset to drive change across functions
• Robust knowledge of pre- and post-marketing PV legislation
• Experience with regulatory authority inspections and internal audits
• Fluency in English
