Overview
In this role you will contribute to Mercury-focused science within the ESA/JAXA BepiColombo mission. You will analyze in situ spacecraft data, combine theory and modelling, and work with UK and international teams to uncover how energy flows around Mercury and constrain the planet’s interior properties. You’ll present findings at conferences and in journals, helping shape our understanding of planetary interiors and magnetic/thermal processes. Responsibilities
- analyze spacecraft data from the BepiColombo mission
- develop and apply theory and numerical modelling
- use computational techniques and standard software packages
- collaborate with Imperial College London, the UK Planet Mercury team, and the BepiColombo team
- present results at conferences and publish in peer-reviewed journals
Key requirements
- PhD in Space/Planetary Physics or closely related discipline
- experience in analysis of spacecraft data, theory, or numerical modelling
- evidence of originality through scientific publications
