Principal QA Engineer – Logistics and Fulfilment

Overview

In this role you lead the Quality Engineering strategy for the Logistics & Fulfilment squad, embedding quality across the software lifecycle. You will champion automation-first delivery and partner with Product, Engineering and Architecture to raise standards. You’ll balance hands-on testing leadership with coaching and strategic influence to improve efficiency and customer outcomes. Responsibilities

• Define and drive the quality engineering strategy across warehouse operations, order fulfilment, stock movement, and delivery experiences
• Champion automation-first testing and embed quality throughout the SDLC
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers and Architects to ensure quality from discovery to deployment
• Coordinate with FS, DCX, and Retail squads to promote cross-team quality initiatives
• Build confidence in platforms via functional, non-functional and exploratory testing
• Leverage AI-powered tools to improve test design, documentation and team efficiency
• Lead and coach offshore QA teams, providing direction and mentorship
• Promote modern engineering practices (TDD, BDD, shift-left) and improve tooling, frameworks and processes
• Use data and quality metrics to inform decisions and manage risk
• Share knowledge and best practices to shape QA across the organization

Key requirements

• Significant experience in Software Testing and Quality Engineering in complex tech environments
• Experience at Principal, Lead or Senior QA level
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery and modern development practices
• Proven track record designing and implementing automated testing strategies
• Hands-on test automation experience and frameworks
• Experience with AI tools, APIs and testing tools like Postman
• Strong exploratory, functional and technical testing capabilities
• Experience with TDD, BDD and ATDD
• Knowledge of non-functional testing (performance, resilience, security)
• Experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Fulfilment, Retail or Ecommerce environments is highly beneficial
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence across levels
