Senior Mental Health Pharmacist East Hampshire 

Overview

In this role you will lead clinical pharmacy services for mental health across inpatient and community settings within East Hampshire, aligning with the NHS Left Shift agenda. You will work closely with the Medicines Management team to deliver high-quality, safe, patient-centered care while driving service development and audits. The role offers leadership, professional development, and opportunities to shape mental health pharmacy services within a progressive Trust.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop clinical pharmacy services for community and inpatient settings
• Support and implement NHS Left Shift agenda to enhance patient outcomes and reduce hospital demand
• Lead quality improvement projects with senior pharmacists and healthcare professionals
• Coordinate medicine-related audits
• Provide clinical/operational support to pharmacists and technicians
• Give specialist advice on medicines and ensure compliance with legislation
• Collaborate with primary and secondary care to improve medicines management
• Present reports on quality, governance, finances, and performance at meetings
• Provide line management for pharmacists and/or pharmacy technicians
• Provide cover for other senior pharmacists across locations
• Take on additional portfolio as agreed with Chief Pharmacist

Key requirements

• Significant post-registration experience as a clinical pharmacist in the NHS
• Ability to communicate medicine-related information to patients, carers, and clinical staff
• Experience with clinical audits and staff training
• Staff management experience; setting objectives and appraisal techniques
• Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice or MSc (Desirable: Independent Prescriber)
