Associate/Senior Associate – Commercial Real Estate – Edinburgh

Overview

In this role you will support a market-leading CRE team in Edinburgh on high-value property transactions, focusing on residential development and land work across Scotland. You work closely with partners to manage complex deals for developers, landowners, and institutions, contributing to strategic land projects and cross-functional workflows. You will lead and mentor junior colleagues, handling drafting, negotiations, and risk management to protect client interests. Responsibilities

• Lead land acquisition and disposal transactions for private developers and public sector clients, including greenfield and brownfield sites
• Manage and develop junior team members to ensure high-quality delivery
• Contribute to strategic land deals with support from planning, construction and energy teams
• Prepare Deeds of Conditions and DMS Deeds of Conditions for new developments
• Negotiate Promotion, Option and Joint Venture Agreements
• Support corporate colleagues on property due-diligence requirements of transactions

Key requirements

• 6+ years PQE in commercial real estate
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, delegation and communication skills
• Proactive, commercial approach with ability to manage a varied workload
• Strong client relationship and client care skills
• Time management to maximise profitability of work
• Ability to identify and manage risk in work
• Strong knowledge of Scottish property law and transactional experience
• Experience in development, investment, asset management or corporate support
