Head of Construction – Build a practice – Flexible working

In this role you will lead and build a dedicated construction practice within a London law firm, leveraging the existing real estate offering to grow multidisciplinary capabilities. You will work closely with the real estate team on construction aspects of developments and handle non-contentious and contentious matters as needed. Responsibilities

• Leverage existing client base to build a dedicated construction practice
• Work on JCT and NEC contracts, collateral warranties, and professional appointments
• Support the real estate team on construction aspects of commercial and residential developments
• Handle contentious construction including litigation, adjudication, and arbitration
• Collaborate in a team that values flexibility and growth toward partnership

Key requirements

• 9+ years PQE in UK construction law
• England & Wales qualified solicitor
• Experience as a partner or senior associate/director aiming for partnership
• Predominantly non-contentious background with desirable exposure to contentious construction
• Entrepreneurial outlook and willingness to build a practice
