Overview

In this role you drive the growth of WSP’s Water business unit by orchestrating high-impact bid submissions. You lead multidisciplinary teams to craft tailored proposals that meet client needs while showcasing the company’s strengths. You design win strategies, manage tender planning, and ensure clear communication across the bid lifecycle. You coach and develop teams to embed best practices and elevate performance. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex, high-value strategic bids as Bid Manager or senior support
  • Ensure bid governance and review processes are followed
  • Contribute to strategic bid capture planning and collaborate with Opportunity Director
  • Assist in prospect qualification and understand client requirements
  • Provide resource expertise and leadership for strategic bids
  • Challenge proposals to deliver optimal solutions aligned with client needs and business goals
  • Collaborate with bid authors/solution architects to translate knowledge into winning proposals
  • Capture lessons learned and promote best practices across teams
  • Train and coach colleagues on bid processes and skills
  • Compile market and competitor insights to inform future opportunities

Key requirements

  • Significant bid management experience
  • Proven track record of producing tenders in relevant markets
  • Senior proposals management experience with a history of winning bids
  • Understanding of bid governance and bid review processes
  • Strong bid writing, management and commercial skills
  • Degree-level qualification in an appropriate subject
  • APMP Foundation as a minimum
  • Knowledge of procurement processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Robust project management with meticulous attention to detail and quality
  • Strong time management and prioritisation
  • Proactive, initiative-taking attitude
  • Ability to assimilate large volumes of information and manage workflows
  • Relationship-building with partners and internal colleagues
  • Excellent people skills to lead and motivate others
  • Commitment to quality and continuous improvement
  • Fluent in English with the ability to present complex ideas clearly
