HSE Lead – Data Centre – London

Overview

In this role you will lead Health, Safety & Environmental strategy for a data centre project in London. You will align plans with UK law, standards and client requirements while driving a proactive safety culture. You will manage risk assessments, audits, incident investigations and corrective actions across all project phases. You will ensure compliance for high-risk activities (lifting, electrical works, confined spaces, commissioning) under CDM and data centre protocols. This position offers meaningful impact in safety leadership on a large-scale, growth-focused project.

Responsibilities

• Lead site HSE strategy and implement project-specific plans
• Conduct risk assessments, safety inspections and audits; drive timely corrective actions
• Promote behavioural safety and lead toolbox talks with site teams and subcontractors
• Oversee incident investigations and produce high-quality, root-cause reports
• Support compliance for high-risk activities (lifting, electrical works, confined spaces, commissioning) per CDM and data centre protocols

Key requirements

• 8+ years’ experience in a similar role on large-scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres)
• NEBOSH qualification
• Based within commutable distance of Canary Wharf
