Manager: Business Development

Overview

In this role you drive the Finance practice’s business development strategy and execution within a global, collaborative BD team. You will translate strategic priorities into concrete actions, shaping pitches, client opportunities and multi-jurisdictional campaigns. You’ll craft thought leadership and orchestrate events to raise the practice’s profile while tracking market trends to surface opportunities. You’ll work closely with partners, BD colleagues, and cross-office teams to help the Finance practice win and grow key mandates. Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver business development plans for the Finance practice, working with partners and BD leadership
• Support day-to-day requests and lead pitches, RFPs and client presentations
• Coordinate with global BD team for multi-jurisdictional opportunities
• Develop thought leadership and marketing campaigns
• Drive events, sponsorships and webinars to engage target audiences
• Collaborate with cross-practice and global BD colleagues
• Embrace new technology and AI tools to sharpen research and BD output

Key requirements

• Degree level education or equivalent experience
• Experience in business development, marketing or communications in professional services or financial services
• Interest in the legal market and transactional finance, or ability to quickly learn
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
• Numerate with comfort handling data and financial information
• Familiarity with or enthusiasm for AI tools and competitive intelligence platforms
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Collaborative, fast-paced team player with strong organizational skills
• Strategic thinking, problem-solving, and initiative
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and potentially lead a team
• Budget management and reporting experience desirable but not essential
