Director of Accounting & Controlling

Overview

In this Finance Controller role, you’ll own core accounting and controlling processes to ensure accurate financials and resilient operations. You’ll work closely with the VP of Accounting & Controlling to drive operational excellence and scale the finance function in a global SaaS business. The role combines hands-on execution with strategic improvements, focusing on sound controls and streamlined processes. You’ll play a key part in audits, reporting, and cross‑functional alignment, making an impact as the function evolves.

Responsibilities

• Own core accounting and controlling processes (month-end close, reconciliations, reporting)
• Partner with the VP of Accounting & Controlling on day-to-day operations and initiatives
• Act as reliable right-hand to ensure continuity, accuracy, and consistency across accounting activities
• Take ownership of selected processes to reduce dependency risks and boost resilience
• Support audit preparation and execution with internal and external stakeholders
• Improve and document financial processes, controls, and workflows
• Identify opportunities to streamline, automate, and scale accounting operations
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A, Legal, and other teams to align on goals
• Step in to support the broader accounting and controlling agenda

Key requirements

• Proven accounting, controlling, or auditing experience in a fast-paced technology environment
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS preferred)
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
• Hands-on mindset with ability to work independently and in a team
• Comfort in a fast-paced, evolving environment
• High attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership
