Overview
In this role you will shape procurement strategy for a government organisation, acting as a trusted advisor to the business. You will lead end-to-end procurement across key categories, embedding best practice and regulatory awareness to drive commercial value. You’ll work with senior stakeholders to align sourcing with organisational goals and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful procurement outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end procurement and tendering across multiple categories with emphasis on digital, technology and professional services
- Partner with stakeholders to develop and implement strategic sourcing plans
- Provide expert advice on commercial strategy, contract development and risk management
- Drive value through effective negotiation and supplier engagement
- Embed robust supplier relationship management practices for key suppliers
- Ensure compliance with government procurement regulations and internal governance frameworks
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Finance, Risk, and IT
Key requirements
- Commercially minded procurement professional
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to influence at all levels
- Proven experience delivering end-to-end procurement projects (ideally IT)
- Strong understanding of procurement governance and regulated environments
- Experience in strategic sourcing, tender management, and contract negotiation
- Ability to build credibility as a business partner and trusted advisor
- Experience managing supplier relationships and driving performance
- Exposure to service-based categories (IT procurement desirable)
