Translational Medicine Director/Associate*- Cardiovascular & Metabolic

Overview

In this role you drive PoC-focused translational medicine within Cardiovascular Metabolism, leading global cross-functional teams to design and execute early clinical research. You shape development pathways and biomarker strategies, bridging discovery and patient-ready therapies. You collaborate with biology, chemistry, and regulatory partners to advance PoC programs and, if successful, contribute to full development through registration. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on medical monitoring and cross-team communication, in a mission to bring meaningful CVM therapies to patients.

Responsibilities

• Lead global project teams through PoC to implement PoC strategy from NTRC to registration
• Own clinical portions of the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) through PoC
• Act as medical monitor for one or more clinical studies
• Communicate clinical matters to project teams and decision boards
• Convene internal and external leaders to discuss PoC approaches
• Evaluate clinical centers and engage collaborating investigators
• Oversee publication and external presentation of PoC results
• Be accountable for compound-related biomarker strategies; collaborate with biomarker experts
• Develop and implement preclinical strategies to support program objectives and assess clinical implications
• Present to Health Authorities as TM Expert

Key requirements

• MD required with subspecialty training preferred in cardiovascular disease or endocrinology/metabolic disease
• 1–2 years’ experience in pharma/biotech/CRO/academic medical center; 5+ years for Director level
• Recognized for medical and scientific expertise with strong publication record
• Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills
• Ability to work independently on study planning and execution; capable of leading collaborations in a matrix organization
• Leadership of multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organization
• Innovative mindset with openness to new clinical discovery opportunities and PoC approaches
• Fluent in English
• Additional consideration for advanced data science/genomics/AI applied to clinical research or digital/wearable health science
