Project Manager – Cambridge

Overview

In this role you lead the planning, coordination and delivery of complex civil/engineering projects from start to finish. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget project delivery while upholding quality and client satisfaction. You will contribute to improving internal project management processes to support growth and scalability. The position offers the chance to shape multi-disciplinary projects within a growing consultancy and build long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Maintain regular client communication and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle
• Build and sustain client relationships to encourage long-term partnerships
• Coordinate meetings, updates and reporting with clients and stakeholders
• Support proposal development, scoping activities, and commercial viability assessments
• Lead planning, scheduling and resource estimation for projects
• Coordinate internal teams, subcontractors and external parties to ensure delivery
• Monitor progress, risks, dependencies and constraints; manage changes and impacts
• Ensure documentation, reporting and records are accurate
• Align technical deliverables with project objectives and QA standards
• Monitor budgets, resources and delivery performance; forecast workload

Key requirements

• Demonstrable experience managing complex multi-disciplinary projects
• Experience in engineering, construction, surveying, consultancy or related technical environments
• Strong stakeholder and client management skills
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, risks, resources and contracts (ideally JCT and NEC)
• Experience implementing or improving project management processes
• Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills
• Ability to coordinate technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Professional project management qualification desirable (APM, PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent)
