Construction Planner

Overview

In this role you will lead day-to-day site operations for fast-paced commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects, ensuring safety, schedule, and high-quality finishes. You’ll coordinate trades, manage site logistics, and maintain client-facing professionalism to support project success. You will work closely with designers, project managers, and clients to drive smooth delivery and first-class interiors. This is a hands-on, client-facing position at a contractor with a strong pipeline across Yorkshire, offering clear progression paths.

Responsibilities

• Manage on-site activities for commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects
• Coordinate subcontractors, site labour, and specialist trades
• Ensure high-quality interior finish standards
• Maintain health & safety compliance, RAMS, and site audits
• Oversee logistics, deliveries, schedules, and quality checks
• Conduct progress meetings and liaise with project managers, designers, and clients
• Maintain daily site records, permits, reports, and snagging documentation

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Manager in commercial fit-out, retail, interiors, or refurbishment
• Strong understanding of high-spec finishes, sequencing, and tight programme management
• Confident communicator with ability to work with design teams and end clients
• Ability to lead multiple subcontract teams in fast-track environments
• Valid SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications
