Quality Assurance Specialist

Overview

In this role you will support maintenance of the QMS and provide QA input across test facilities and supply chain. You will coordinate with multiple stakeholders to ensure inspection and witnessing coverage, and help develop working practices that meet space industry requirements. You will work under a Senior QA Specialist to ensure documentation compliance and quality across operations. This is a hands-on, cross-disciplinary role at a world-leading space research environment with opportunities to influence safety and efficiency. You will contribute to the smooth transition of facilities from commissioning to steady-state operations and support internal audits.

Responsibilities

• Organise and participate in Nonconformance Review Board meetings to ensure timely handling of issues
• Coordinate Facility Readiness Review meetings and manage evidence packs and actions to sign-off
• Collaborate with internal technical teams on creation and controlled release of QMS documents
• Support and witness key test activities and critical hardware operations, ensuring procedural compliance
• Compile handover documentation for transitioning new facilities to steady-state operations
• Assist internal audits to ISO 9001 and EN 9100 / ECSS-Q-ST-20-07C, including reporting findings
• Review and approve suppliers and maintain Approved Supplier List for test facilities
• Participate in QA walkabouts and document actions for follow-up

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM subject, or strong professional development
• Experience with a QMS certified to ISO 9001 and/or EN 9100
• Experience managing non-conformance or anomaly processes
• Ability to review and maintain technical or controlled documentation
• Experience coordinating technical reviews and inspections in a scientific/engineering/regulatory environment
• Effective written and verbal communication with multi-disciplinary teams
• Understanding of internal audit processes (ISO 9001 and/or EN 9100) and ECSS standards or ability to learn them
