About the Role
n
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and customer-focused Maintenance Joiner to join a busy property maintenance team, carrying out high-quality repairs and maintenance across properties.
n
You will be responsible for delivering a professional and responsive joinery service across tenants' homes, communal areas and other properties. The role will involve a mixture of reactive repairs, planned maintenance and improvement works, with a strong emphasis on completing work safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
n
You will be a key representative of the organisation when working in tenants' homes, so excellent customer service and a professional approach are essential.

Key Responsibilities
n
Carry out a range of responsive joinery repairs and maintenance within tenants' homes and communal areas.
n
Undertake planned maintenance, refurbishment and improvement works as required.
n
Diagnose faults and identify the most effective repair solution.
n
Repair and replace doors, windows, frames, skirting, flooring, kitchen units, cupboards and other joinery components.
n
Install, repair and adjust doors, frames, locks, ironmongery and associated fixtures.
n
Complete repairs arising from general wear and tear, damage and deterioration.
n
Work efficiently to meet agreed response times and service standards.
n
Aim to deliver right-first-time repairs and high-quality workmanship.
n
Record completed works, materials used and any follow-up requirements accurately using relevant IT systems.
n
Identify and report additional defects or repairs requiring attention.
n
Communicate professionally with tenants, explaining works and providing updates where appropriate.
n
Treat tenants' homes and belongings with care, respect and consideration.
n
Work effectively with colleagues, other trades, supervisors and contractors.
n
Support void property works, planned programmes and wider maintenance activities.
n
Maintain tools, equipment and materials in a safe and serviceable condition.
n
Follow all relevant health and safety policies, risk assessments and safe systems of work.
n
Participate in emergency or out-of-hours call-outs where required.

About You
n
We are looking for an experienced Joiner who takes pride in their work and is committed to delivering a high-quality service.
n
You will ideally have:
n
A recognised Joinery/Carpentry qualification, such as SVQ/NVQ Level 3, or equivalent experience.
n
Previous experience within a property maintenance, housing, construction or repairs environment.
n
Strong practical joinery and carpentry skills.
n
Experience undertaking responsive repairs and general maintenance.
n
Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
n
The ability to organise and manage your own workload effectively.
n
A professional and customer-focused approach.
n
Good communication skills and the ability to work respectfully within tenants' homes.
n
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a wider team.
n
A commitment to health and safety and maintaining high standards of workmanship.
n
A full UK driving licence, where required for the position.
n
Experience working within a social housing or local authority maintenance environment would be highly desirable but not essential
n
