Commercial Property Solicitor (In-House)

Overview

In this in-house role you will lead commercial property transactions for a private property management group with a large London portfolio. You’ll own the leasing workload across retail, office, and industrial premises, and advise on Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 renewals. You’ll collaborate with asset management, property, and finance teams while managing a busy caseload with autonomy. The position offers a hands-on, commercially focused environment within a small specialist legal team. You’ll contribute to protecting and growing the group’s property interests and portfolio performance.

Responsibilities

• Negotiating, drafting, and completing commercial leases across retail, office, and industrial premises
• Managing business lease renewals under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
• Handling land and title queries arising across the portfolio
• Advising the commercial property management team on day-to-day landlord matters
• Working closely with internal asset management, property, and finance colleagues
• Operating largely unsupervised, taking ownership of caseload and providing practical, commercially focused advice

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor (England & Wales)
• Minimum 7 years PQE in commercial property (transactional)
• Strong experience of commercial leasing across retail, office, and industrial
• Solid knowledge of 1954 Act business lease renewals
• Comfortable handling land and title queries independently
• Ability to manage a busy caseload with autonomy
• Commercially minded and pragmatic with strong stakeholder relationships
