Associate Regional Claims Practice Leader – Property & Construction

Overview

As Associate Regional Claims Practice Leader for Property & Construction, you will support the Regional Claims Practice Leader and coach UK & Lloyd’s teams on complex claims. You’ll oversee large losses, provide technical guidance, and drive governance, reporting, and improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with claims, underwriting, actuarial, and management teams to share insights, manage litigation strategy, and grow external expert networks. This role offers influence across geographies, a focus on continuous learning, and opportunities to shape claim practices.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical reference for large, complex Property & Construction losses and exposures to promote best practices and ensure compliance with early warning and large loss protocols
• Provide oversight of large losses, manage litigation strategy and external counsel in collaboration with management and claims teams
• Lead Large Loss Governance through active participation in roundtables and watchlist reviews, ensuring adherence to the Large Loss Framework
• Drive accurate and timely reserving for the largest claims and maintain robust reporting and governance
• Maintain relationships with brokers, clients, underwriters, actuaries and practice teams to support business development and client training
• Develop and maintain an external panel of experts (adjusters/forensic accountants) for global AXA XL claims and value-added services
• Lead process review and improvement initiatives within the product line and manage key projects within timescales
• Support cross-training across teams and participate in a culture of continuous learning and development
• Collaborate with actuarial, management and other stakeholders on portfolio insights, trends and lessons learned
• Potentially work on other lines of business within Claims depending on workload

Key requirements

• Significant Property & Construction claims experience with working knowledge of Lloyd’s Claims Principles and regulations
• Experience overseeing large losses, providing authority, mentoring, and reporting trends
• Strong collaboration skills to work with claims handlers, insureds, brokers, underwriters and legal counsel
• Ability to guide and train colleagues and emerging talent
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities to represent AXA XL at broker/client events and cross-functional meetings
