Senior Engineer – Legal Compliance & Acceptance

Overview

In this role you will lead and support Legal & Regulatory compliance across the T26 Frigate project, ensuring obligations are defined, traceable, and aligned with customer and business needs. You will build and maintain evidence of compliance, support formal acceptance activities, and assure solutions meet regulatory, technical, and performance requirements. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to enable successful customer acceptance and on-time project delivery. This role offers a cross-functional, impact-driven pathway at a leading defence contractor with opportunities to influence regulatory strategy and project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain evidence of compliance with all Legal & Regulatory obligations across the project
• Maintain and update records of applicable legislation, regulations, standards, and designated L&R owners
• Act as a liaison between the project, Governance team, and Customer to manage regulatory changes and compliance information
• Support requirements management activities, ensuring compliance, traceability, acceptance criteria, evidence, and customer approvals are effectively controlled
• Engage with customers, suppliers, and project teams to resolve engineering issues, make decisions within delegated authority, and maintain professional competence through ongoing development

Key requirements

• Academic qualification in a STEM subject
• Ability to become Incorporated or Chartered Engineer through a recognised professional institution
• Good knowledge and understanding of Legal & Regulatory compliance
• Good understanding of the engineering lifecycle
• Competence with requirements capture and management software tools (e.g., DOORS)
