Overview

In this role you will advocate and advise within a leading national regulatory team in Cardiff, shaping regulatory standards across sectors. You’ll appear before tribunals and courts, including the High Court, and contribute to investigations, policy development, and potential advisory work for regulatory panels. Responsibilities

  • Present cases at interim order hearings, reviews and fully contested trials
  • Prepare hearing documentation including skeleton arguments and opening notes
  • Advise on progression and management of regulatory investigations
  • Draft and approve allegations for regulatory tribunals
  • Provide wider regulatory advice and contribute to policy development
  • Potential to develop a practice as a legal adviser to regulatory panels

Key requirements

  • Qualification as a solicitor, barrister or CILEX advocate
  • Minimum 1 years experience in contested/uncontested hearings in a regulatory context
  • Strong technical expertise and analytical ability
  • Excellent advocacy skills with confidence before tribunals and courts
  • Collaborative, team-focused approach
  • Strong client care skills and ability to manage own caseload
