JobDescription:
As a Test EquipmentEngineer – Hardware, you will provide critical engineering supportto the underwater system test equipment used across the UK. Youwill play a key role in ensuring high levels of equipmentavailability while also improving, upgrading, and designing newtest equipment.
This role combines hands‑onfault diagnosis, hardware design, and in‑service support, workingclosely with a highly experienced team of engineers. You will workon unique defence systems that you won’t find elsewhere, with realhands‑on responsibility for test equipment design, fault‑finding,and in‑service support. You will be a trusted technical contributorto the wider In‑Service Support Group, supporting both currentoperations and future capability.
Core Duties: Design, improve, and introduce electrical andelectronic test equipment, including upgrades Take technical Diagnose and fault‑find Contribute to the design assurance andsafety of underwater system test equipment, ensuring compliancewith company, national, and international standards Compile, review, and approve engineering designs,changes, tasks, and concessions, and act as a technicalrepresentative during off‑site investigations or trials whenrequired
EssentialSkills: You will havea qualification in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or a closelyrelated discipline (HNC, HND, or Degree level) You will have You will have aYou will have the ability to createand interpret circuit diagrams, electrical drawings, and technicaldocumentation
TheTest Equipment Team:
You’ll bepart of an experienced engineering team of around 10 hardware andsoftware engineers, working on long‑term programmes, offeringstability, technical depth, and clear opportunities to develop yourcareer. You’ll be working alongside engineers with deep domainWhy BAESystems?
