Financial Controller

Overview

In this Financial Controller role, you will own the financial control, reporting and month-end processes within a fast-growing, PE-backed energy business. You will lead management reporting, FP&A and working capital management to support rapid scale and investment activity. The role sits in the UK finance function and collaborates with senior leadership to improve controls, systems and processes. This is an opportunity to shape a high-CAPEX, asset-backed finance function in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial control, reporting and month-end close
• Lead management reporting and FP&A activities
• Manage cash flow and working capital
• Oversight of CapEx and project/infrastructure spend
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Drive system and process improvements and internal controls
• Support growth, investment activity and cross-functional collaboration with leadership

Key requirements

• Experience in renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure investment
• Background in asset-backed or high-CAPEX environments
• PE-backed or rapidly scaling business experience
• Commercial, hands-on, and willing to challenge the business when needed
• Ability to operate independently and take ownership
