Overview
In this Patient Care Advisor role, you support both clinical and administrative teams at a community GP practice. You will handle front-of-house tasks and back-office administration to ensure smooth patient journeys for a population of around 8,000. You work closely with the Practice Manager and clinical staff to maintain efficient, patient-centered services. You will contribute to improving access to care and maintaining high standards of confidentiality and professionalism. Responsibilities
- Greet patients and assist with their needs, including new registrations and signposting to appointments
- Manage reception duties, phone queue, mail, email, and online queries
- Coordinate appointment booking for primary and secondary care, and access to services
- Perform routine administration tasks (daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly) and maintain records
- Handle electronic pathology system tasks and requests for sick notes, appliances, and equipment
- Process and manage repeat prescriptions
- Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships with the Practice Team
- Support duty clinicians and ensure smooth first contact assessment workflows
Key requirements
- Ability to learn and adapt
- Experience in a GP practice (desirable)
- Experience in an administrative role (desirable)
- GCSEs in English and Maths (A-C) or equivalent
- UK professional registration and DBS check
