Lead Auditor

Overview

In this role you will lead technical audits of electronic payment terminals to ensure conformity with Mastercard requirements and robust management systems. You will work closely with clients and senior stakeholders to assess complex environments, shape certification programs, and drive high standards of safety, quality, and compliance. The position blends remote documentation reviews with on-site assessments and international travel, offering opportunities to expand into cybersecurity and regulatory disciplines. You will contribute to new certification schemes and help customers close audit findings, making a measurable impact on product quality in a global context.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical audits and assessments against Terminal Quality Management certification requirements, remotely and onsite
• Review technical documentation and quality management systems
• Advise customers on certification requirements and processes
• Present audit findings to Senior Management with clear timelines
• Prepare audit reports and maintain supporting documents
• Manage corrective actions and assist customers in closing findings
• Coordinate with Assessment Body and internal stakeholders to ensure timely certifications
• Participate in technical committee meetings and industry events
• Support development and delivery of new technical assessment and certification schemes

Key requirements

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Quality Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related field
• Demonstrable experience in a technical industry
• Experience conducting 2nd and/or 3rd party audits, technical assessments, or inspections
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated; able to work independently and in a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business software
• Willingness to travel extensively in the UK and internationally with a full UK driving licence
