Senior Medical Writer (UK Based/US Position)

Overview

As a Senior Medical Writer, you drive day-to-day project delivery across therapeutic areas, combining scientific rigor with AI-enabled processes. You will engage with clients and external experts, lead discussions, and mentor junior writers within a cross-border team. The role blends scientific storytelling with strategic input to shape high-quality medical content for US and UK clients. Responsibilities

• Lead content delivery for complex projects with supervision, delegating as appropriate to ensure timely, high-quality output
• Engage in client discussions and with external experts on therapy areas and patient pathways
• Utilize AI solutions to streamline projects and improve delivery, with guidance to the team
• Contribute to strategic discussions with clients and support meetings
• Develop compelling narratives from complex information and structure new projects
• Oversee quality control of deliverables and provide constructive feedback
• Mentor junior writers on therapy area knowledge and processes
• Lead on-site elements of events and coordinate with accounts teams on progress
• Identify new business opportunities by contributing scientific content for growth
• Ensure timely communication of writer hours and project progress to accounts team
• Interrogate briefs, flag queries, and proactively resolve potential issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address feedback and meet client objectives
• Support growth in new therapeutic areas for new business

Key requirements

• Strong scientific background with a degree in a scientific or medical discipline
• Experience in medical writing at MW level or above
• Passion for healthcare, science, and the pharmaceutical industry; keen interest in AI technologies
• Personable and able to nurture client and team relationships; mentoring MWs and client interaction essential
