Overview
In this Finance-focused role at Tesco, you will partner with key business areas to shape performance and drive value. You’ll support Product, Customer, and Channels with insights and strategic challenge, while leading FP&A activities across Customer, Property, Technology, and other domains. You’ll co-ordinate management accounts, budgeting, and strategic planning to ensure accurate reporting and informed decision-making. This position combines commercial influence with a collaborative culture that values development and flexibility. Responsibilities
- Provide insights on performance of key projects to leadership teams in Product, Customer, or Channels
- Collaborate with leadership teams to challenge and influence strategic projects for their function
- Manage forecasts and project results, ensuring alignment with broader business goals
- Offer financial expertise to constructively challenge business initiatives and recommend improvements
- Proactively identify risks and propose solutions to mitigate potential issues
- Support decision-making processes to close performance gaps and drive value
- Lead performance review meetings with business and global support teams
- Review, adjust and communicate strategic and operational plans to commercial and operational teams
- Champion initiatives that drive efficiency and foster a cost-conscious culture
- Stand over monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and providing insightful commentary
- Coordinate the annual strategic planning and budgeting processes
- Support the Finance Director and senior leaders with ad-hoc projects and transformation initiatives
- Maximise the potential of global support functions and contribute to their development
Key requirements
- Accountancy qualification – ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Proven experience driving strategic priorities in large, fast-paced organisations
- Experience collaborating with senior colleagues across functions
- Strong financial analysis and modelling skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Experience in planning and budgeting
- Retail industry experience is preferred, specifically related to Property, Technology or Marketing
