Overview
As CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist you will provide senior medical cover for Primrose Ward, a 12-bed CAMHS PICU for ages 12–18, overseeing inpatient care as Responsible Clinician. You will lead medical auditing, ensure GMC-consistent practice, and act as Medical Lead for CAMHS, shaping regional care networks and models of care. This role combines clinical leadership with driving evidence-based practice to improve outcomes for young people and families.

- Lead high‑quality care for Primrose Ward inpatients
- Oversee patient treatment plans with the multidisciplinary team
- Conduct mental state examinations, investigations, diagnoses and treatments
- Perform ward rounds, reviews and clinical audits
- Drive risk assessment, risk management and clinical governance
- Prepare reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and hearings
- Coordinate transfers and leave with Ministry of Justice as required
- Maintain patient records and ensure clear communications with site leadership
- Engage in CPD and contribute to academic activities
- Participate in on‑call rota as needed
- Fully GMC registered
- MBBS or equivalent
- Registered on specialist register (CCT/CESR/Portfolio Pathway), Section 12 and AC Status
- Experienced in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act 2005
- MRCPsych or equivalent
