In this Procurement Manager role you lead the commercial delivery for technology categories, shaping strategy and driving value through sourcing, contracts, and supplier performance. You will partner with a Global Technology Procurement team to secure secure, innovative, and cost-efficient tech solutions that align with Tesco’s risk and sustainability goals. The role offers high visibility and a chance to influence major technology investments in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work with cross-functional partners to balance business needs with safety, compliance, TCO and environmental impact, delivering measurable savings and supplier performance improvements. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sub-category plans aligned to Category Plans using market intelligence and risk assessments
- Run RFPs/RFIs, contract renewals, and supplier selection processes
- Lead full lifecycle procurement across global Opex and Capex for software, cloud, cyber, retail tech, and infrastructure
- Build commercial models, identify savings opportunities, and manage category budgets
- Track and report savings, cost avoidance, efficiency gains, and risk reductions
- Own strategic supplier relationships and drive performance, innovation, and ESG alignment
- Lead contract governance from award through renewal and performance review
- Collaborate with Legal, Security and Compliance to meet required standards (cybersecurity, privacy, ethical sourcing)
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, financial governance, regulatory obligations, and sustainability commitments
- Oversee governance to support operational resilience
Key requirements
- Years of experience in procurement or technology commercial roles
- Experience managing sourcing events and contracts
- Sourcing process excellence, negotiation, analytics, and tool proficiency (eSourcing, CLM)
- Proven record delivering technology sourcing projects
- Strong relationship-building and senior stakeholder influence
- Project, stakeholder and programme management skills
- Category management and multi-year technology plans
