6 months contract Role with a local authority
Summary
- This is a 6-month contract position with a local authority, offering an umbrella rate of £261.57 per day. The role is pivotal in conveying the Council’s priorities, services, and accomplishments while safeguarding and enhancing its reputation. As a Communications and Public Affairs Officer, you will play a crucial role in crafting and executing corporate communications, marketing initiatives, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs activities across diverse channels.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the formulation and execution of the Council’s communications and public affairs strategies.
- Implement effective communication campaigns for both internal and external audiences using various channels and platforms.
- Create high-quality communication materials, including press releases, briefings, newsletters, reports, presentations, and digital content.
- Ensure all communications are clear, precise, accessible, and aligned with corporate goals.
- Uphold and enhance the Council’s brand, maintaining consistency across all communications.
Requirements
- Experience:
- Proven experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or public affairs roles.
- Demonstrated ability to plan and execute communication campaigns across multiple channels.
- Experience in media relations and stakeholder engagement.
- Project management experience within a communications setting.
- Qualifications:
- A‑Level education or equivalent experience.
- Relevant qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, Media, or a related field, or substantial equivalent experience.
