Group Financial Controller

Company: Forge Talent
Apply for the Group Financial Controller
Location: Manchester
Job Description:

Forge Talent are proud to be partnering with an exceptional, multi-site international group. I spent time on site with the Group FD this week and it’s exactly the type of business ambitious finance professionals want to join.

The business has a clear growth strategy, significant investment behind it and a leadership team with a genuine long-term vision. Having recently completed a major acquisition, with further acquisitions already in progress, they’re now looking to appoint a Group Financial Controller to support the next phase of growth.

Reporting directly to an impressive Group FD, this is a genuine No.2 role within finance. You’ll take ownership of group financial control, lead the finance team and play a key role in strengthening processes, integrating acquisitions and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.

What you’ll be doing

Owning BAU across a multi-site, multi-currency environment while helping the finance function evolve alongside a growing international group.

  • Lead monthly reporting and group consolidations
  • Own month-end and year-end reporting under UK GAAP
  • Drive working capital performance through oversight of AR and cash management
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Strengthen financial controls, processes and governance across the group
  • Manage the year-end audit process and statutory compliance requirements
  • Lead, develop and mentor the finance team
  • Support the integration of acquisitions, including reporting alignment, process improvement and controls implementation
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial insight

This role offers exposure well beyond traditional financial control, with involvement in acquisition activity, process improvement projects and strategic initiatives across the wider group.

What they’re looking for

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
  • Previous experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role within a multi-site environment
  • Strong technical accounting, reporting and consolidation experience
  • Experience operating within a multi-currency environment
  • Strong controls, audit and compliance background
  • Experience within a stock-led, manufacturing or distribution environment would be highly advantageous
  • A proactive approach and genuine desire to understand how the business operates, not just report the numbers

What’s on offer?

  • Salary of £70,000 – £75,000
  • Hybrid working (4 days office / 1 day home)
  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • The opportunity to join a growing international group at a pivotal stage of its journey

The opportunity offers high visibility, significant exposure to senior leadership and the chance to join a business that is growing in the right way.
