Priory Hospital Preston, Bartle, nearPreston is amental health hospital offering services for adultmales and females with acute mental health needs and eatingdisorders across four wards. It is accessible by public transport,with local bus routes and Preston railway station nearby. The M55motorway is also easilyaccessible.
What you’ll bedoing
You will be part of acompassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. Wetake a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help peoplemove forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfillingfuture. You will play a key part in their recovery, assistingqualified staff with the assessment and implementation ofindividual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks andactivities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing,dignity and treatment of patients
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients, includingmultidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews andthe development of a therapeutic milieu.
- Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician to patientsdetained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
- Supervising the process of referral and admissionincluding contributing to preadmission assessments of young peoplewith other team members.
- Offering apsychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team in relationto the assessment, formulation and treatment ofadults.

What you’ll bringto therole
Essential:
Thispost requires a strong team player who is enthusiastic aboutcontributing to a multidisciplinary approach to assessment,formulation, and management planning. Applicants musthold MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification), a CCT (orequivalent) and be included on the GMC Specialist Register, alongwith Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status. Theymust demonstrate clinical knowledge, skills, and experiencerelevant to the speciality, the ability to work within and lead ateam, and a commitment to shared leadership, collaborative working,and service improvement. Candidates should also have evidence ofongoing continuous professional development.In addition,highly developed communication and interpersonal skills areessential, as the role relies on building trust and confidence withpatients to ensure that treatments and interventions are effectiveand successful.
