The Lighthouse is a multi-agency service for children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse. The service is based in Camden and is available to children and young people in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington. Within the multi-agency service there is a health team made up of Paediatricians, a Clinical Nurse Specialist and a Play Specialist. We are a small friendly team and work closely together to provide guidance and support to help children and young people to recover and ability to work as part of a team is very important. Job Purpose The primary duty and responsibility is to support the work of the Paediatricians and Clinical Nurse Specialist in providing high quality and safe care to patients and their families. Excellent observation, communication skills and phlebotomy skills, as well as the ability to build trust and rapport with individuals who have experienced severe trauma in their lives is required. A non-judgemental approach and the ability to demonstrate unconditional positive regard is absolutely essential. The post holder carries out assigned tasks under the supervision of the Clinical Nurse Specialist – Supports the Clinical Nurse Specialist in the provision of a high standard of patient centred care in a safe and caring environment – Helps deliver care for patients in a safe, non-judgmental environment – Contributes towards health team organisation with delivery of high standard clinical and non-clinical services to patients. This will include ordering supplies, environment organisation, stocking trollies and cleaning of equipment, and general tidying.
