Bid Manager / Electrical Estimator (Pre-Construction)

We are hiring for our client, a growing and ambitious contractor, who is seeking an experienced within Pre-Construction / Bid Management / Electrical Estimating to lead competitive tender submissions and take ownership of high-value pricing across utilities, electrical infrastructure, data centres and commercial projects. This Manager role combines bid leadership with hands-on estimating, ideal for someone who can shape winning submissions end-to-end – from strategy and pricing through to handover.

The Role:
Lead the end-to-end bid process – tender review, strategy, submission, clarifications and handover to delivery teams
Produce accurate, competitive cost estimates across labour, materials, plant and risk
Prepare and review cost plans, take-offs, supplier returns and pricing build-ups
Develop win themes, methodology content and pricing strategies aligned to client requirements
Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure best value
Collaborate with operations, commercial, procurement and business development teams
The Person:
5+ years’ experience in bid management, estimating, pre-construction or commercial support within the MEP sector
Strong background in electrical contracting, utilities, infrastructure or data centre environments
Proven estimating capability, including cost planning, take-offs and pricing review
Degree, trade background or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
Strong Excel skills and confident using modern tendering and estimating tools
