An established and growing construction consultancy is looking to appoint two Consultant Quantity Surveyors and one Senior Consultant Quantity Surveyor to join its Sunderland office.
With a strong pipeline of secured work across the North East, this is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects spanning healthcare, education, residential, commercial, leisure, infrastructure and public sector developments.
You’ll have the opportunity to see projects through from inception to completion, working closely with clients and project teams while developing your technical and commercial expertise within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Projects
Current commissions include:
Healthcare projects ranging from GP surgery refurbishments and extensions through to major hospital developmentsHigher education projects for leading universitiesCommercial office and mixed-use developmentsNew-build residential developmentsLocal authority regeneration, infrastructure and public realm schemesLeisure and community projectsProjects are primarily located throughout the North East, with occasional opportunities to support wider regional projects where specialist expertise is required.
The Opportunities
Consultant Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £36,000 – £42,000
This position would suit a Quantity Surveyor with consultancy, client-side or contractor experience looking to build their career within a professional consultancy environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
Cost planning and estimatingProcurement and tender managementContract administrationInterim valuations and final accountsEmployer’s Agent servicesContract and commercial adviceClient and stakeholder managementSite inspections and project handoversSupporting project delivery from inception through to completion
Senior Consultant Quantity Surveyor
Salary: £55,000 – £62,000
This role would suit an experienced consultant with a strong background delivering Quantity Surveying services across sectors such as education, healthcare, leisure, commercial or public sector projects.
Candidates are likely to have gained experience within a consultancy environment and may have worked for organisations such as Turner & Townsend, Atkins/Faithful+Gould, Gleeds, Ridge, Pick Everard or similar.
Responsibilities will include:
Leading commissions and managing project deliveryProviding strategic cost and commercial adviceProcurement and contract managementEmployer’s Agent and Contract Administrator dutiesManaging client relationshipsMentoring and supporting junior team membersSupporting business development activities where appropriateDelivering projects to cost, programme and quality objectives
About You
Consultant Quantity Surveyor
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similarIdeally 2-5 years’ experienceStrong commercial awarenessExperience of pre and/or post-contract servicesAmbitious and keen to progress professionallyExcellent communication skills
Senior Consultant Quantity Surveyor
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similarIdeally 5+ years’ consultancy experienceStrong pre and post-contract Quantity Surveying expertiseExcellent knowledge of procurement routes and contractsExperience managing projects independentlyStrong client-facing capabilitiesMRICS desirable but not essential
