Investment Data Analyst

Overview

In this role you will collaborate with Investments and Finance to derive insights from investment data, guiding better decision-making and supporting policyholders. You will help improve data systems, processes, and automation, while contributing to data governance and data product delivery. You’ll work with stakeholders across the Data Office and business functions to ensure high-quality data and actionable reporting. This position offers the chance to shape investment data management at scale within a collaborative, impact-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with key stakeholders across Finance, Investments, and the Data Office (operationally).
• Support the Investment Data Manager in driving continuous improvements and automation of data practices.
• Assist Data Owners and Stewards in BAU data definition and management.
• Collaborate with IT data custodians and external partners to deliver data products.
• Participate in ongoing Investments Data Products design and analysis initiatives.
• Enhance Investment Data Quality processes to sustain data trust for Investment and Finance teams.
• Chair the Investment Data Working Group (IDWG) on behalf of the Head of Data Governance, including planning and agenda setting.
• Maintain IDWG governance artefacts, wiki, minutes, and action tracking with timely follow-up.

Key requirements

• Understanding of Fixed Income instruments, Swaps & Derivatives and related data.
• Awareness of Data Governance practices, policies, and standards.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with business stakeholders.
• Ability to analyse large data volumes, understand business/tech processes, and read code to identify root causes of data issues.
• Proficiency with SQL, Python, Data Management tools, MS Excel, Power BI, Cognos, and Data Quality tools.
• Strong report writing, documentation, and presentation skills.
• Experience in Financial Services, particularly securities/assets data.
• Experience with Investment Data Management platforms such as Finbourne Lusid.
• Familiarity with data comprehension practices and tools like Solidatus, IDQ, Collibra.
