Lead Civil Engineer

Overview

In this onsite Civil/Structural Engineer role, you will lead civil and structural activities for a major Plymouth remediation project. You’ll work within a Joint Project Team to shape design, manage delivery, and ensure safety and quality. The role offers hands-on technical supervision, optioning, and lifecycle engagement across decommissioning activities. You will partner with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver critical infrastructure work in a high-profile defence context, contributing to a safer and cleaner energy transition.

Responsibilities

• Defining project requirements and preparing technical specifications
• Managing engineering support and detailed design activities
• Reviewing and approving drawings, method statements and risk assessments
• Providing technical supervision of construction/deconstruction works
• Supporting commissioning/decommissioning activities
• Responding to RFIs and technical queries
• Contributing to project optioneering and continuous improvement
• Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environment & Quality standards

• Experience of developing design assurance for complex projects
