Civil Engineer – Water

Overview

In this role with Stantec’s Water division in the UK South, you will lead civil design across water and wastewater, networks, and drainage schemes. You will collaborate with contractor partners on design-and-build projects and guide asset planning through to detailed design. You’ll support climate-resilient infrastructure and work within a national, cross-region team that values local impact. This is a hands-on, problem-solving role that shapes sustainable, community-focused water solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil engineering design for Water/Wastewater treatment, networks, and drainage (including SUDS)
• Coordinate across project lifecycle from planning to detailed design
• Collaborate with contractor partners on D&B projects to move designs to construction
• Mentor and develop junior engineers
• Support asset planning and strategy initiatives
• Contribute to climate resilience and sustainable design objectives
• Work within cross-functional UK-wide teams to share knowledge

Key requirements

• solid track record of design experience within the UK water industry
• degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
• ideally Chartered or Incorporated (ICE, CIWEM, or similar)
