Property Litigator – Birmingham

Overview

As a Property Litigator in our Birmingham disputes team, you will manage a varied property litigation caseload for commercial and private clients. You’ll handle landlord and tenant disputes, boundary issues, TOLATA claims, and related negligence matters, with opportunities to support broader litigation where needed. You will work closely with clients, draft documentation, negotiate, and, when appropriate, advocate. The role combines independent caseload autonomy with team collaboration and business development contributions.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own property litigation caseload for commercial and private clients
• Advise on strategy, draft legal documentation, and negotiate on matters
• Conduct advocacy when appropriate
• Provide strong client care and manage client expectations
• Work to deadlines in a busy environment
• Collaborate with the team and contribute to business development and growth of the department
• Support wider litigation team where necessary

Key requirements

• Solicitor or Legal Executive with around 2–5 years PQE (applications from outside this range considered with relevant experience)
• Experience in contentious landlord and tenant matters for landlords and tenants (residential and commercial)
• Knowledge of boundary disputes, TOLATA, and professional negligence relating to property
• Ability to manage a caseload and work independently and in a team
• Comfort with case management systems and Microsoft Office
