As a Business Analyst at Deloitte in Belfast, you will lead and shape transformation projects for Defence and Security clients, translating business needs into actionable requirements and designs. You’ll work across client teams to identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities, delivering evidence-based insights and compelling recommendations. Responsibilities

• Leading and delivering complex strategy and transformation projects for Defence and Security clients, focusing on business process analysis and optimisation
• Identifying and documenting risks and issues and providing mitigation recommendations
• Reviewing and analysing datasets to generate insights and recommendations
• Staying up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies
• Conducting thorough research and analysis to inform strategic recommendations
• Identifying business needs and documenting detailed requirements
• Collaborating with other workstreams to identify key dependencies across work
• Designing and facilitating workshops, interviews, and meetings with stakeholders at all levels
• Generating analysis and insight to support strategy development and change
• Developing presentations/reports that communicate findings and impact to diverse audiences
• Building and maintaining relationships with client leads and stakeholders
• Proactively communicating risks and opportunities to client and project team
• Mentoring and supporting junior team members
• Contributing to business development, proposals, and client presentations
• Strategic options analysis and evaluation ahead of key investment decisions
• Harnessing innovation to stimulate transformation and adapt to disruptions (e.g., AI/robotics)
• Turning strategy into reality by supporting change implementation and alignment with IT strategy

Key requirements

• Proven business analysis skills and ability to translate requirements into solutions
• Experience in a strategic role analysing current position and guiding future strategy
• Consulting or equivalent experience, or Defence/Security/Public Sector background
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Strong project management, including detailed planning under tight timelines
• Ability to drive independent workstreams within a broader team
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
• Collaborative, inclusive team player with strong relationship-building
• Experience with strategic decision-making and option analysis
• Creative problem-solving and structured thinking
• Strong analytical skills with ability to derive insights and recommendations
• Knowledge or experience with JIRA or equivalent
