Job Description:

• Speciality – Mental Health Practitioner
• Location -North West London
• Start date – ASAP
• Contract length – Ongoing
• Pay Rates – £40-50 per hour
• We are looking for an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to provide flexible support across 3-4 schools in North West London.
• The role will involve a mixture of assessment and intervention, supporting children and young people with a broad range of needs including ASD, complex SEND and mental health/emotional needs.
• This is an ad hoc opportunity with considerable flexibility around availability, so it could be completed alongside an existing substantive or locum position.

Role:

• Mental health and emotional wellbeing assessments
• Individual and targeted interventions
• Supporting children and young people with complex presentations
• Working with pupils with ASD and additional SEND
• Developing appropriate strategies and support plans
• Working collaboratively with school staff and families
• Liaising with other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary approach
• Providing flexible input across a small number of schools

Requirements:

• UKCP/ BACP accreditation
• Hold a diploma qualification
• Strong observational and listening skills
• The ability to work well as a team
• Good communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant professional mental health qualification/registration
• Experience supporting children and young people
• CAMHS, SEND, education or community experience desirable
• Experience with autism and complex needs advantageous
• Ability to work autonomously within school settings
