Northern Cancer Alliance Delivery Lead

Overview

In this Delivery Lead role, you drive cancer service transformation and value-for-money planning across a broad alliance. You will work with partners to design and improve pathways, oversee project portfolios, and champion patient and public involvement. You’ll manage budgets, governance, and performance while navigating a complex health system. This hybrid, cross-site position offers meaningful impact on cancer care and equity of access within the North East and Cumbria. You will join a forward-looking team focused on delivering the Long Term Plan for Cancer.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery and coordination of designated projects and workstreams aligned with national cancer priorities and local objectives
• Coordinate with programme managers, teams, and system partners to plan, deliver and monitor projects
• Champion service delivery efficiency, innovation, and best practice across cancer pathways
• Support evaluation, benefits realisation and continuous improvement activities for programme delivery
• Manage stakeholder relationships, provide expert advice, and present data to support decisions
• Ensure patient and public involvement is integrated at all levels of the work plan
• Oversee budgets, governance, and policy development; lead team and maintain autonomy amid competing priorities
• Contribute to strategic and operational planning to improve cancer care pathways

Key requirements

• Post-graduate degree in Management Studies or equivalent experience
• Experience coordinating projects in complex, politically sensitive environments
• Valid driving licence and ability to travel as required
