Overview
In this role you will drive international expansion by shaping global priorities into concrete partnerships and market launches. You will partner with the Head of Business Development to lead end-to-end expansion efforts across multiple regions, coordinating with banks, fintechs, and regulators. You’ll balance speed, economics, and regulatory realities to deliver scalable market entries. The opportunity centers on building a global partner network and launching services that improve access to financial products for diaspora communities.
Responsibilities
- Translate global growth priorities into actionable plans with the Head of Business Development
- Own end-to-end partnership development across global markets from outreach to launch
- Identify and prioritize new countries, corridors, partners, and opportunities based on impact and feasibility
- Source, structure, negotiate, and execute partnerships with banks, fintechs, payment providers, and mobile money operators
- Develop market-entry and partnership strategies considering local needs, competition, regulations, and economics
- Build relationships with senior external stakeholders across cultures and markets
- Manage multiple workstreams: market research, sourcing, commercial analysis, negotiations, contracting, launch planning
- Coordinate with product, operations, compliance, legal, finance, and commercial teams to turn opportunities into launches
- Identify regulatory, commercial, technical, and operational risks early and take pragmatic actions
- Prepare recommendations for leadership balancing speed, economics, and strategic value
- Strengthen global business development capabilities and partner network as the company scales
Key requirements
- 8+ years in business development, partnerships, strategy, market expansion, consulting, or similar in high-growth environments
- Track record of launching partnerships or businesses across multiple international markets
- Experience in or with emerging markets; Africa experience preferred
- Strong commercial judgment, balancing speed, economics, regulation, and complexity
- Autonomy and proactive, execution-focused in unstructured environments
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills across cultures
- Ability to manage multiple markets, partnerships, and workstreams simultaneously
- Comfort working with senior leadership and owning high-priority initiatives
- Adaptable and resilient amid changing priorities and cross-border complexity
- Experience in fintech, payments, remittances, or regulated financial services is a strong advantage
- Fluent English; additional languages valued
