Associate Director, Project Management – Water/Utilities

As an Associate Director in our utilities-focused team, you will lead multi-disciplinary delivery across infrastructure programmes and support clients with complex, high-profile projects. You will mentor the next generation of project managers while upholding safety and governance standards. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, shaping outcomes for clients and the business. Responsibilities

• Manage multiple disciplines, teams, advisors, and clients across infrastructure programmes
• Set and raise performance standards, ensuring efficient use of people and resources
• Champion health, safety, and wellbeing; apply CDM principles across teams
• Anticipate client challenges and design sustainable, innovative solutions
• Foster inclusive teamwork and a one-business mindset across Turner & Townsend and clients
• Develop and nurture client and industry partnerships
• Lead with influence to realize the company purpose and vision
• Coach, mentor, and develop colleagues to grow best practices and emerging talent

Key requirements

• Experience in utilities/water infrastructure project or programme management with end-to-end lifecycle exposure
• Experience managing procurement (NEC/other contracts) and complex commercial arrangements
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage contractors, consultants, and advisors
• Experience in consultancy and/or client-side project management
• Familiarity with public sector organisations related to infrastructure
• Understanding of sustainability in project delivery and operating in complex stakeholder environments
• Delivery in complex operational settings and reporting to diverse stakeholders
